DNS Configuration (SPF, DKIM, and Sender ID records)
Can I add DomainKeys, SPF and DKIM records to my DNS? Absolutely! Adding a DNS record to your sending domains will help to authenticate emails that you send through the Online Outbox interface.
One qualification: you must be sending 100,000 emails per month or more to qualify. There is no charge for this service.
First, you’ll need to request the SPF and DKIM records from our support team.
Second, you’ll need to install the SPF and DKIM records on your domain. You can follow the instructions below.
Each hosting provider and domain registrar handles DNS management in their own unique way, so there’s not really a single page of instructions to make it work for your unique situation. However, we want to make these instructions available to you for improved deliverability.
Select your DNS/hosting provider for detailed instructions:
GoDaddy
- 1. View the domain names in your account
Login to your account, and mouse over the domains option to bring up a list of your domain names.

- 2. Click on the domain that you want to authenticate

- 3. Manage your DNS settings
- 4. Click the “Total DNS Control and MX Records” link under Total DNS.
If this isn’t available, you may need to contact GoDaddy’s technical support to help.In this area, if you see “Total DNS: (Not hosted here)”, then your DNS is managed elsewhere, and you’ll need to make the change on your host rather than on GoDaddy.

- 5. Create a TXT record
Scroll down to the TXT record section, and click “Add New TXT Record”.
- 6. Add your DomainKeys (DKIM) details
For the TXT Name (in the Host column), enter “smtpcom._domainkey.yourdomain.com” without the quotes. Replace the words “yourdomain.com” with your actual domain. Add the key to the TXT Value field. This was supplied to you by Online Outbox. Press OK. Your DomainKeys record (DKIM) will then be set up in the next few minutes. - 7. Create an SPF/Sender ID Record
Scroll down to the TXT record section and click on “Add New SPF Record”. This will load GoDaddy’s SPF wizard.
- 8. Select “an ISP or other mail provider”

- 9. Click on the “Outsourced” tab
Add “onlineoutbox.com” in the text box. Uncheck the “Exclude all hosts…” checkbox below the text box.**Most people can uncheck the checkbox below the text box that reads “Exclude all hosts not specified here”. If you are only using this domain to send emails through Online Outbox (no personal or business mail, no marketing emails through another provider, etc.), you can leave it checked.

- 10. Review your SPF record
You will see your SPF record on the next screen. If it’s good, click OK.

- The TXT text for the Sender ID record (SPF), provided to you by Online Outbox.
- The DomainKeys TXT name, such as “smtpcom._domainkey.yourdomain.com” (use your domain name instead of “yourdomain.com”, without the quotes)
- The full DomainKeys TXT Text (DKIM), provided to you by Online Outbox.
Register.com
Register.com does not currently provide an interface to manage DNS for each domain, but you can send them a support request with the following information:
- The domain you’d like to add these records for.
- The TXT text for the Sender ID record, provided to you by Online Outbox.
- The DomainKeys TXT name, such as “smtpcom._domainkey.yourdomain.com” (use your domain name instead of “yourdomain.com”, without the quotes)
- The full DomainKeys TXT Text (DKIM), provided to you by Online Outbox.
